PERFORMANCE PSYCHOLOGY

ELEVATE YOUR PERFORMANCE & ENJOY HOCKEY AGAIN

You want to reach the next level of Hockey.

You have dreams of the NCAA, WHL, NAHL,
but you feel like you're missing that last key to unlock the next door.

You've watched all the videos, balanced your nutrition, have a personal trainer, and have practiced for hours, but you feel like there's something more to push you over the edge from normal to elite.

Maybe you struggle with nerves

Maybe you live in a "non-hockey" town or don't have a parent who's played. Maybe feel like your coach isn't giving you the insight and skills you need, or

YOU'RE STRUGGLING.

AND IT ISN'T BECAUSE YOU LACK SKILL

Your mind won’t slow down.

You overthink mistakes.

Have tightness in big moments.

Fear of being benched or cut.

Lost confidence after injuries or slumps.

Anxiety before games or practices.

Feeling flat, burned out, or disconnected from the game

If this is you,

You’re not broken.

You’re not weak.

You’re just missing skills

PSYCHOLOGICAL ONES

WHAT IF YOU COULD...

ENJOY THE GAME AGAIN
AND
ELEVATE YOUR PERFORMANCE?

PERFORMANCE PSYCHOLOGY

The last edge isn’t physical.

It’s mental.

At the highest levels of hockey, everyone can skate. Everyone can shoot. Everyone trains hard.

What separates players is how they think, regulate pressure, and show up when the game speeds up.

Hockey performance psychology helps players navigate pressure, mistakes, anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. This, in turn, elevates performance and "flow state."

TAYLOR VICKERMAN, MA

I’m a former elite hockey player who now helps athletes through performance psychology.

I'm a former WHLer, and played in Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL). I was also fortunate enough to play for Team USA and win a Five-Nations gold.

After injuries ended my playing career, I've spent the last decade studying the human psyche. After my time as a professor of psychology, I now work with athletes navigating anxiety, confidence, and performance under pressure.

I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am the founder and licensed psychotherapist of Soul Care Center of the West Coast in Washington State.

HOW IT WORKS

Structured, solution-focused work designed to directly increase performance and enjoyment of the game

Weekly or bi-weekly sessions, tailored to your season, goals, and level of support needed

Game and practice review to identify patterns that strengthen or limit performance, including pressure points, confidence shifts, and moments where the game feels forced versus automatic

Clear identification of the real block, using my experience in elite hockey and deep knowledge of how the mind and nervous system respond under pressure

Nervous system regulation under pressure, so your body and mind stay steady when the game speeds up

Resetting after mistakes (shift-to-shift) to prevent one moment from turning into a bad period or game

image.png

Confidence that holds in fast, physical games, not just when things are going well

Focus, presence, and decision-making at speed, so instincts stay online under stress

Skill development built for real games, with repeatable tools that translate directly to pre-game routines, between-shift resets, post-mistake recovery, and in-game decisions

Clear outcomes over time, including greater composure, faster recovery after mistakes, increased performance consistency, durable confidence, and a deeper enjoyment of the game

Managing anxiety and low mood without losing your edge, intensity, or competitive drive

Turning pressure into fuel instead of fear, allowing you to play assertive, decisive hockey

Ongoing support between sessions, with check-ins around games or key moments and adjustments as demands increase
