Mental Health Care
how it works
Our projected impact
Our story
Empower Us
Imagine a Yakima where 1/10 citizens
know how trauma affects their
brain, body, beliefs, & society.
Where people know how to
navigate their trauma-induced anxiety, depression or addiction.
Where neighbors know how create safe spaces for healing
& de-escalate conflict.
Where families learn how break cycles of trauma.
That’s what Project 500 is all about.
Our 2030 goal is to have 10,000 Yakima citizens trained
We’re beginning by training 500 everyday people living in/around Yakima across 6-months
Teachers, parents, grand-parents, baristas, coaches, business owners, doctors, students, community leaders, plumbers, estheticians, friends, and everyone in-between
to become People of Peace.
Our goal is simple but bold:
to decrease cycles of trauma, mental illness, and generational pain.
A Person of Peace is someone who;
Brings calm where there is conflict
Knows their own story of suffering & how to heal
Listens deeply before reacting
Models compassion in tense situations
Helps break generational cycles of harm by planting seeds of healing
You don’t need a degree, a title, or a platform.
You just need a willingness to learn and a heart
to see your community flourish.
