Hi, I'm Taylor

My Journey Thus Far
At 18, I experienced what I sometimes call my “pre-midlife crisis.” I found myself navigating a deep sense of anxiety and depression; feelings that have ebbed and flowed throughout different seasons of my life.
Those seasons were often marked by loneliness, frustration, and questions about suffering, healing, and what it means to be human. Over the years, as I served in the helping profession, I began hearing many of those same questions from the people around me.
After six years of working in the nonprofit sector and witnessing how many people were struggling with their mental health, my wife, Emily, and I sensed an invitation to respond to that need. That invitation eventually led me into counseling.
Early in my counseling career, I became frustrated with approaches that seemed to offer only part of the picture. People are beautifully complex, and I don’t believe lasting healing comes from simply applying the right method or technique.
We each carry a story within our bodies, minds, hearts, relationships, and souls. Healing asks us to care for the whole person.
The Work I've Done
There’s a saying in the therapy world: “Therapists can only take clients as far as they’ve gone themselves.” Those words continue to guide my practice.
I can welcome my clients more fully because I’m continuing to learn how to welcome myself. I can sit with difficult emotions because I’ve learned to sit with my own. And because I know the vulnerability of being in therapy, I hold the stories and vulnerability of my clients with great respect.
I’ve experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational struggles. I’ve also experienced the pain, courage, and unexpected joy that can come with healing. I don’t have everything figured out—I’m still an evolving human, but my own experiences help me show up with genuine compassion, curiosity, and hope.
Change Begins With Acceptance.
Many people come to therapy believing they need to become a different person. I believe healing begins when you are finally given the space to be who you already are.
I will welcome you exactly as you are, including the parts of you that feel anxious, guarded, overwhelmed, ashamed, angry, or unsure. Instead of judging those parts or trying to make them disappear, we’ll become curious about what they have been carrying and how they have tried to protect you.
Acceptance doesn’t mean remaining stuck. It means creating enough safety to understand what hurts, what needs care, and what may be ready to change.
You Lead, and I’ll Walk Alongside You
You know your life better than I ever will. You set the direction, and I bring presence, perspective, and practical tools to help you move toward the life you want.
Together, we’ll explore where you’ve been, where you are now, where you hope to go, and what within you may need to be heard or mended.
Some of this work will be internal: understanding yourself more deeply, healing old wounds, and releasing burdens you’ve carried for a long time.
Some of it will be external: developing new ways of relating to others, creating healthier boundaries, and showing up more fully in your relationships and daily life.
We’ll move at your pace. I won’t force you somewhere you aren’t ready to go or ask you to put a positive spin on your pain. I’ll meet you with compassion and help you take the next step when you’re ready.
A Little More About Me
Outside of counseling, I love spending time with my family, drinking good coffee, running, and getting lost in a meaningful book.
At the end of the day, I’m a normal guy who genuinely enjoys being with people. I consider it a privilege to sit with others as they make sense of their stories, reconnect with themselves, and discover that healing is possible.
You’ve already taken a courageous first step. I’m here to help you take the next one.
